A 28-year hike on the Appalachian Trail
In 1985, Jeffrey Ryan inadvertently began an adventure that would last almost three decades. Ryan and a newfound friend climbed Maine’s Katahdin. As they stood on the summit, they had no idea we had embarked on a section hiking journey that would cover all 2,100+ miles of the trail. The story of Appalachian Odyssey is much more than a travel dialogue. It’s the story of perseverance, friendship, fun, and personal growth, one the former editor of National Geographic hailed as, “destined to become a classic of nature and travel writing.”
