"Sounds like Trouble To Me" with Author Jean Trounstine

Join author Jean Trounstine as she shares insights about her new novel, "Sounds Like Trouble to Me", in an engaging dialogue with Angelia Jefferson, a dedicated advocate who has experienced incarceration and now works as a participatory-defense transform-harm coordinator with Families for Justice as Healing.

The novel is based on a true story about a corrections officer who kills her abusive husband and finds herself incarcerated. Shocked by the systemic abuse against female prisoners and confronted with her own past, she struggles to recall the events leading to her trial. The women she meets behind bars influence her perspective and ultimately inspire a MeToo movement within the prison.

Jean Trounstine, an activist and professor, has written eight books and received a Gramsci award in Italy for her 30+ years of work in prison justice. To register for the event, use this link: https://bit.ly/CPLMAY26
