What is summer reading program? Why is it important?

Summer reading programs take place at 95% of public libraries in the United States. Children, teens, and adults participate in activities meant to encourage reading. Summer reading programs at public libraries in the United States began no later than the 1890s.

There are many benefits to participating in our summer reading program which include; improves comprehension, memory, and the love of learning as well as prevents summer learning loss. Our activities not only include reading but also outdoor activities, crafting, and socializing.
